Marcus Mariota is Gisele’s dream quarterback

Marcus Mariota can throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time (sort of).

Mariota burnt the New York Jets secondary as a receiver Sunday. The Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback caught a 41-yard touchdown reception thrown by running back Antonio Andrews in the Jets’ 30-8 victory.

You might remember that after New England’s 21-17 Super Bowl XLVI loss to the New York Giants, Gisele Bundchen, wife of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, was famously overheard saying, “My husband can not f—— throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time,’’ a veiled shot at Wes Welker, who dropped a crucial pass late in the game.

Of course, Brady cannot catch his own passes, per NFL rules. But like Mariota, Brady caught a pass last week for a 36-yard reception, the longest catch in the Patriots-Eagles matchup.

Mariota took it a step further, though, catching his pass for a touchdown. Plus he’s a little faster than Brady. Maybe, just maybe, Mariota is making himself receiver-proof, just like Gisele has always wanted.
