Tom Brady asks former teammate Vince Wilfork to ‘take it easy on me this weekend’

Ahead of Sunday night’s game at the Houston Texans, Tom Brady took a moment Thursday to reach out to former teammate and friend Vince Wilfork.

“#tbt to a special moment with a great teammate and friend. Take it easy on me this weekend, Vince!’’ Brady posted on Facebook.

“You will be okay…’’ Wilfork commented on the post. “Looking forward to hitting u….I mean seeing you my friend.’’

After 11 years with the Patriots, the 34-year-old nose tackle signed a two-year, $9-million deal with the Texans this past offseason, bolstering an already prolific defensive line including J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney.

In an interview with reporters Wednesday, Wilfork called New England his second home and said he still keeps in contact with friends on the team.

“I never thought that, in my whole career, I’d be playing in something other than a Patriots helmet, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles sometimes, and it did,’’ Wilfork said, per ESPN.

But don’t expect him to ease up on his old friends.

“Once that whistle blows, I guess we are enemies now,’’ Wilfork told ESPN. “But I will be back loving them after the game, but those 60 minutes, it’s the Patriots versus the Texans and right now I am a Texan. I got a job to do and hopefully I can do it well.’’
