Vince Wilfork talks about his emotional response to leaving the Patriots during the 2015 offseason, Tom Brady and Brian Hoyer nicknamed former Patriots assistant and current Houston Texans coach Bill O’Brien, “Teapot,’’ and the Red Sox have done nothing to improve their terrible defensive infield.

Red Sox could have the worst defensive infield in the MLB: “That topic hasn’t received much discussion this offseason, overshadowed by the acquisitions of pitchers David Price, Craig Kimbrel, and Carson Smith, and outfielder Chris Young.’’ (The Boston Globe)

Vince Wilfork says there was sadness, not bitterness, after he left the Patriots: “Could I still have been wearing a Patriots helmet? I think 100 percent, yes, if I wanted to,’’ he said. “I just thought at that point in my career it was kind of just best for both sides to do what we did and, like I said, I didn’t leave bitter, the organization definitely didn’t leave bitter. It was a sadness there just because over the years what the organization meant to me, my coaches, especially Bill [Belichick], Mr. Kraft, what they meant to me, personally, not just football-wise.’’ (ESPN.com)

Tom Brady and Brian Hoyer nicknamed Bill O’Brien ‘Teapot,’ and kept an actual teapot in the locker room: “Those were some good times,’’ Hoyer told reporters Wednesday. “Basically, any time we felt it was justified, we’d put it on the teapot like it was the Stanley Cup. I brought a teapot in one day. Tom (Brady) and I thought it would be funny to just keep adding to the story. At a certain point, I started writing them down in my notebook. Finally, when we brought the teapot in, we started wrapping them around and eventually it was pretty full.’’ (MassLive.com)
