Dont’a Hightower reportedly suffered sprained MCL
The Patriots’ linebacking corps is starting to look as depleted as the team’s receiving corps.
Dont’a Hightower suffered an MCL sprain during the Patriots’ 30-24 loss to the Broncos, according to the NFL Network’s Albert Breer.

Hightower left the first half of Sunday night’s game after tackling Broncos tight end Owen Daniels. He sat on the Patriots’ sideline for the duration of the game.
Fellow starting linebacker Jamie Collins has missed three games with an illness, and the Patriots have been mum on his status since he was first listed on the injury report. Both Collins and Hightower have worn the “green dot,’’ which allows them to communicate with coaches and call defensive plays on the field. On the 2015 season, Hightower has 55 tackles and 3.5 sacks, and Collins has 51 tackles and 4.5 sacks.
