NBC flexes Patriots-Texans into primetime game
This is the “price’’ the New England Patriots pay for winning, Jonathan Kraft explained on 98.5 The Sportshub before New England’s matchup against the Denver Broncos Sunday night. The Patriots will have to play in the spotlight more often.
The Patriots’ Week 14 game against the Houston Texans (6-5) will be moved into primetime on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.’’ The game originally slated to air was the Seattle Seahawks (6-5) against the Baltimore Ravens (3-7).

Led by former Patriots offensive coordinator and current head coach Bill O’Brien, the Texans are second place in the AFC South behind the Indianapolis Colts. Veteran defensive lineman Vince Wilfork spent 11 seasons with the Patriots, but signed with the Texans during the 2015 offseason. Quarterback Brian Hoyer spent three seasons with the Patriots backing up Tom Brady.
And of course, the Texans squad features one of the NFL’s best pass-rushers in J.J. Watt.
