ESPN’s Patriots graphic embellishes Foxborough’s proximity to Boston
Ah, Monday night in Foxborough. The Patriots, the Bills, the pomp and circumstance. The Prudential Center twinkling just past the endzone at Gillette Stadium.
Wait, what?
Ahead of the Patriots-Bills game Monday night, ESPN Monday Night Football’s Instagram account posted a graphic depicting the Patriots’ home stadium in the shadow of the Boston skyline.

Foxborough is 30 miles from Boston. On game days — heck, on a normal commuting weekday — it takes like two hours to get from one to the other. This, courtesy of Boston Globe photographer Jim Davis, is what the real Foxborough looks like on a game day.

Route 1, about three hours before kickoff.
We’ll give ESPN some artistic license here, considering there’s a Paul Revere statue in the graphic, too, and everyone knows that statue is right outside the Faneuil Hall location of Cheers.
