Pierre Thomas and Robert Turbin work out for Patriots
The search for Dion Lewis’s replacement begins.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates and Adam Schefter, the New England Patriots worked out Super Bowl-winning running backs Pierre Thomas and Robert Turbin, after losing Lewis to a torn ACL against the Washington Redskins.
The Patriots have three running backs rostered in LeGarrette Blount, Brandon Bolden, and James White. The trio will combine to subsitute for Lewis’s workload in the passing and rushing game.

Thomas spent time with the 49ers during the 2015 season, but previously spent eight season with the Saints. In his career, the 30-year-old has 3,757 rushing yards, 2,608 receiving yards, and 40 touchdowns.
Turbin. 25, was a verstile back for the Seattle Seahawks, catching 16 balls for 186 yrads and two touchdowns and rushing 74 times for 301 yards during the 2014 season.
