Gronk gets a snow day in Nike’s cool new ad

It’s Gronk vs. Suh in a snow day game of backyard football

Rob Gronkowski and the Patriots are hoping to take down Ndamukong Suh and the Miami Dolphins during tonight’s Thursday night matchup.

Meanwhile, Gronk and Suh are also facing off in a slightly less serious contest to determine the king of snow day football in the newest Nike commercial.

The ad starts off with Gronk waking up in bed as the radio announcers from Groundhog Day tell him not to forget his booties because it’s cold out there. Apparently booties is not code for shirt, because Gronkowski is missing his.

…and it’s off to round up the gridiron gang, including Suh, Odell Beckham Jr., Le’Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, Ben Roethlisberger, and 15 other professional athletes.

Like many Nike ads, the atmosphere and entertainment value are prioritized over an explicit sales pitch, but the cold-weather promo highlights Nike’s Hyperwarm base layer workout gear.

As a bonus, Gronkowski reveals who he would most like to hit with a snowball in a behind-the-scenes video detailing the making of Nike’s commercial. The answer?

“Matt Light,’’ Gronkowski says. “He always pranked everybody in the locker room.’’
