Two Patriots are still without jobs for their roles in Deflategate, but that may soon change.

According to sources cited by NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, NFL Executive VP of Football Operations Troy Vincent has asked to meet with suspended Patriots staffers John Jastremski and Jim McNally.

The Patriots suspended the pair without pay in May at the NFL’s request after investigator Ted Wells found they played a key role in the ball deflation scandal.

The Patriots applied to reinstate Jastremski and McNally last week, and the NFL confirmed it was considering the request.

According to Rapoport, Vincent, who authored the initial Deflategate punishments in May, must reinstate Jastremski and McNally himself.

Tom Brady is free after U.S. District court judge Richard M. Berman vacated his suspension, but this has no bearing on the punishments to Jastremski and McNally: Berman found the NFL acted outside of its powers in punishing Brady, but did not invalidate the Wells Report’s findings as applied to Jastremski and McNally, nor to the team itself.

The Patriots were docked two draft picks and fined $1 million for Deflategate. Patriots president Jonathan Kraft said earlier this month the team will not fight its punishment.
