Can we not?

The 2015 NFL season didn’t even get through the first half of the first game of the season without the Patriots being mentioned in a possible controversy.

During NBC’s broadcast of the season-opening Patriots-Steelers game, the network reported that Steelers coaches were hearing a Patriots radio broadcast through their headsets.

NBC’s Michele Tafoya reported that Patriots coaches’ headsets were taken down briefly while the issue was looked at, and that both teams’ headsets were then brought back online.

After the game, NFL spokesman Michael Signora said in a statement the communication issue was caused by a “stadium power infrastructure issue’’ and the coaches’ headsets are provided by the NFL:

“In the first quarter of tonight’s game, the Pittsburgh coaches experienced interference in their headsets caused by a stadium power infrastructure issue, which was exacerbated by the inclement weather. The coaches’ communications equipment, including the headsets, is provided by the NFL for both clubs use on game day. Once the power issue was addressed, the equipment functioned properly with no additional issues.’’

Following the national interest in Deflategate this summer, it seems wherever the Patriots go, questions follow.
