Tom Brady: ‘It’s been such an enjoyable offseason’
Think he’s being a little sarcastic?
Tom Brady attended the 2015 Patriots Premiere at Gillette Stadium, and spoke to an audience for the first time since appearing at Salem State College on May 7.
“It’s been such an enjoyable offseason,’’ Brady said, via CSNNE.com.
The crowd laughed.
Brady has been embroiled in the Deflategate scandal, which has dragged on for over seven months without coming to a resolution. The New England Patriots quarterback is awaiting the ruling for his appeal of a four-game suspension for his role in the deflating of footballs during the AFC Championship game. That ruling will come by September 4, before the NFL season-opener featuring the Patriots against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
While Brady has avoided talking about the scandal, Patriots owner Robert Kraft has spoken for Brady and the rest of the Patriots organization in expressing frustration about the Deflategate fallout.
“I spoke on behalf of the team and addressed the organization’s position regarding, in my opinion, the most overblown story in recent NFL history,’’ Kraft said Tuesday night, “and I advised our coach, his staff, and all of the players to ignore the noise and keep their focus on what was most important for this coming season.’’

Deflategate hasn’t entirely consumed Brady’s offseason, however. He and his wife Gisele Bündchen have used social media to document their summer, filled with cliff jumping, golf course time and family time.
Brady also mentioned that he’s enjoyed following one of his favorite pass-catchers Julian Edelman on Instagram.
“When he rubbed the mud all over his body,’’ Brady said, “that was probably the one I enjoyed the most.’’
You do you, Tom. You do you.
