Russell Wilson thinks his sports drink prevents concussions. Seriously.

Since 2012, Boston-based Frontline has compiled a list of every NFL player who has suffered a concussion — a group of guys who apparently just need to pick up a new kind of sports drink.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who believes God spoke to him during a football game and talks often about his abstinence with his girlfriend Ciara, claims Reliant Recovery Water helps him prevent concussions. Wilson is invested in the company that sells the $3 drink.

“Well, we’re not saying we have real medical proof,’’ Wilson said in an interview with Rolling Stone.

Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews delivered a hit that “banged’’ Wilson’s head, he said.

“The next day I was fine,’’ Wilson said. “It was the water.’’

Wilson isn’t the only player to think he’s on the cutting-edge of concussion treatment. In a story in ESPN The Magazine, Joe Namath said hyperbaric oxygenation treatment has alleviated his cognitive issues from brain trauma. But doctors, who have performed studies on the treatment Namath favors, explained the oxygen treatment has shown no treatment effects through multiple studies.

Namath has not invested in the company giving him the oxygen therapy, but has reserved the right to do so, if they commercialize the product.
