Randy Moss says he’ll back Tom Brady no matter what comes of Deflategate
A New England Patriot for four years, Randy Moss had an unceremonious exit from the team. But Moss is an unconditional Tom Brady supporter.
“I told Tom, first and foremost, that I’m gonna stand by him regardless of what happens, and I don’t call him to talk about anything negative,’’ Moss told The Boston Globe at Patriots’ joint-practice with the Saints in Moss’s home state of West Virginia. “Friends are supposed to stay positive and move you in the right direction, and that’s what I’m there for.’’
The two speak every month, he said, but they tend to keep thinks positive, straying away from topics like Deflategate.
“One thing y’all have to realize is Tom’s human. I’m not going to sit up here and tell you that it doesn’t affect him. I think not only does it affect him, it affects everybody in his circle,’’ Moss said. “As a professional, you just have to live with it and just move on from it.’’
The prolific duo tore up the NFL in 2007, during which Moss set the Patriots’ record for most touchdown receptions in a year with 23 and Brady set the Patriots record for touchdown passes with 50.
