Willie McGinest introduced Bill Belichick to Snoop Dogg
For the first time in months, Bill Belichick was animated at a podium.
The Patriots head coach delivered a speech Wednesday evening for Patriots Hall of Fame inductee Willie McGinest. But Belichick strayed from his typical on-field compliments, and shared a story about McGinest’s contributions to Belichick’s life off the field.
Specifically, McGinest introduced Belichick to Snoop Dogg.
McGinest asked if he could bring the rapper onto the field prior to Super Bowl XXXVIII, and Belichick, a wise man, allowed Snoop to join.
“It was an awesome moment, we go through the day and we take pictures — team pictures — and all that,’’ Belichick said. “Now we kind of come to the end, my daughter Amanda comes over to me and she’s pleading with me with those big girl eyes, ‘Dad, dad, can we get a picture with Snoop?’
“‘Let me talk to Willie and see if we can swing it.’ So there it is. Great moment for me as a father for Amanda. Myself, my daughter, Willie and Snoop in his full length, red — the color of [McGinest’s Hall of Fame] jacket — fur coat.’’
If that photo surfaces, it will be worth its weight in gold.
