Watch Rex Ryan eat a dog biscuit

Throw Rex Ryan a bone. But know that he might eat it.

The Buffalo Bills head coach topped off his bizarre offseason by eating a dog biscuit on Thursday. He started the weirdness by jumping from one AFC East head coaching gig to another. Then, he was welcomed to Buffalo with a disgusting pizza. He changed a tatoo of his wife as a pinup girl wearing a jersey on his arm from Jets’ green to Buffalo blue. He traded with the Eagles for LeSean McCoy — just associating with Chip Kelly this offseason counts as bizarre. He went skydiving. And Buffalo made a corn maze in his likeness. It goes on and on.

At least this time, there was a good cause involved. He was eating dog biscuits to raise awareness for the Erie County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, per the request of WIVB’s Teresa Weakley.

“I believe I’ve been challenged to eat like a dog biscuit or something like that,’’ Ryan said, via ESPN’s Mike Rodak. “With the name Rex, obviously I’ve eaten a lot of dog biscuits in my day, so this is no problem. I accept the challenge.’’

He’s right Rex does sounds like a dog’s name. But for Rex’s sake, let’s hope he doesn’t end up in the doghouse in Buffalo like he did in New York.
