Tom Brady on Mark Brunell: ‘He’s a Patriot hater. They all are’
Tom Brady was more than generally aware of Mark Brunell’s comments questioning the verity of Brady’s statement about his role in Deflategate. The Patriots quarterback seems to be shaking it off. Haters are going to hate — particularly the Patriots’ haters.
Brady’s Michigan teammate Patrick Kratus brought Brunell’s comments to Brady’s attention in an email correspondence, revealed in the NFLPA’s appeal of Brady’s four-game suspension. Brady’s answer was short and sweet: “He’s a patriot hater. They all are.’’
After Brady answered questions about the Patriots’ underinflated footballs in the AFC Championship Game, Brunell got emotional, criticized Brady, and almost cried on ESPN.
“Somebody had to do it, and I don’t believe there’s an equipment manager in the NFL that would — on his own initiative — deflate a ball without his starting quarterback’s approval,’’ Brunell said. “I just didn’t believe what Tom Brady had to say.’’
