Finally, Tom Brady and the NFL agree on something.

The two parties want to expedite the court proceedings for Brady’s appeal of his four-game suspension, so the process will finish prior to the start of the 2015 NFL season, according to court documents filed Friday. The NFL season begins September 4, at which point the Deflategate saga will be 216 days old.

According to the document (below) written by NFL Players Association attorney Jeffrey Kessler, both sides agree to bypass the discovery period and base the motions on the arbitration record. The documents suggest a timeline where the two sides complete their arguments by August 7 and file their papers by August 14.

Brady will not file a temporary restraining order or preliminary injunction, which would lift the suspension until the court makes its decision. Brady could change his decision not to file the injunction if the court does not approve this request to speed up the process.

Judge Richard M. Berman will hear the NFLPA’s case in U.S. District Court in New York, and will decide whether to approve this petition.
