Tom Brady’s agent Don Yee called the Deflategate appeal process “a sham,’’ after the NFL announced it would uphold Brady’s 4-game suspension for the quarterback’s role in Deflategate. Yee released the statement to ESPN’s Adam Schefter Tuesday afternoon.

Yee called the decision “deeply disappointing, but not surprising,’’ saying the NFL had zero evidence and that Goodell was “rubber-stamping his own decision.’’

Yee did not, however, directly acknowledge Brady’s intentionally destroyed cellphone, which the NFL cited as a key factor in deciding to uphold the suspension. Yee said Brady gave Goodell “an unprecedented amount of electronic data, all of which is incontrovertible … Tom was completely transparent. All of the electronic information was ignored; we don’t know why. The extent to which Tom opened up his private life to the Commissioner will become clear in the coming days.’’

He called the process “a sham’’ and explained that Brady’s team was not allowed fair process, explaining that after an 100-day investigation Brady’s team was given only four hours to prepare a defense.

Calling the science “junk,’’ Yee wrote Brady and the New England Patriots did nothing wrong. “It diminishes the integrity of the game,’’ Yee wrote.

The New England Patriots organization did not appeal its punishment, which included a $1 million fine and the loss of two draft picks.

As reported by Jim Trotter, Tom Brady has authorized the NFLPA to appeal his case in federal court. The NFLPA issued a statement on the suspension and will appeal the decision.
