Let’s not forget how awesome it is to be a Boston sports fan

Recent frustrations can’t erase decades of unforgettable teams and memories.

It’s easy to bemoan the state of Boston Sports in 2015. The Red sox are in last place. The Celtics had a disappointing draft night. Don Sweeney’s first moves as general manager of the Bruins are uninspiring. The Patriots won the Super Bowl, and yet the Deflategate scandal has been the story of the offseason.

Boston sports fans are a spoiled bunch, but frustration is not unfamiliar. All four major sports teams have gone on decades-long championship droughts before, and all four have had at least one turn as their sports’ preeminent franchise.

Here’s a look at the history of Boston sports, and why it’s still so good to be a fan.
