The Colts have better Super Bowl 50 odds than the Patriots
The New England Patriots are the defending Super Bowl champions, but they aren’t even the team to beat in their own conference next season, per Bovada’s latest Super Bowl odds.
The Indianapolis Colts have 8/1 odds to win the Super Bowl right now, per Bovada. The Patriots are next in the AFC with 17/2 odds.
The Patriots beat the Colts 45-7 in the AFC Championship Game in January, and have beaten the Colts by an average of 29 points in the last four meetings between the teams. The rivalry between the two teams has been reignited by the Deflategate scandal.
The Seattle Seahawks, who lost Super Bowl XLIX to the Patriots, are current 6/1 favorites to win the Super Bowl, per Bovada. The Green Bay Packers are next at 7/1, with the Colts and Patriots rounding out the top four.
Is Tom Brady’s four-game suspension the reason the Patriots’ odds are so low? If NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell chooses to reduce or eliminate the suspension altogether, the Patriots would seem to be the logical favorite in the AFC at least.
