See you when training camp opens in July.

That was the message Bill Belichick sent to his team Wednesday after it was announced that the Patriots will not hold a final day of minicamp practice on Thursday.

This is the third time in recent years that the Patriots head coach has cancelled the last day of minicamp as a reward for the efforts put in by the players from OTAs through minicamp.

“Well you can see, we’ve got a lot of stuff in,’’ Belichick said Wednesday when hinting that the team had wrapped up the nine-week offseason workout program. “We’ve done a lot of things. We’ve gotten into more situational football each day. We’ll just keep building on that. It’s good to expose it to them once and then the next time around hopefully it will come a little bit quicker. We’re not going to conquer the world this week, but we can just keep pushing forward on all the basic situations and then as many of those extra ones as we can get to just puts us that much further ahead down the road.’’

Belichick, well known for being a unabashed workaholic, admitted that having some time away from the game helps him to be at his best with a new season about to begin.

“We’ve had a good, a busy offseason,’’ Belichick said. “It’s never really stopped since being in Arizona. We’ve got a lot done. We’ve got a long way to go, but yeah, it’ll be good to just be able to get caught up on some personal stuff and obviously relax a little bit. Hopefully that’s what it’ll be.’’

Belichick ended his media session by following his usual script when asked about renaming and repainting his boat.

“Yeah, we’ll see how it goes,’’ Belichick said. “We’ll see how that works.’’
