Tom Brady’s image may have taken a hit nationally due to Deflategate, but here in New England, many fans remain very much in his court.

On Sunday, dozens of sign-toting supporters converged on Gillette Stadium to attend an event billed on Facebook as “A peaceful rally to protest the unjust football arrest of half God half man [sic] Tom Brady.’’

“Basically, I was looking for a rally for myself to attend, because I wanted to go support our team leader,’’ said organizer Pablo Munoz. “I did some research, I wasn’t able to find anything, so I went and decided to create an event page.’’

Munoz invited his about 800 friends when he created the event about two weeks ago, he said. About 200 people had RSVP’d as of a few days prior to the event, and then the media caught wind. As of Sunday that number had grown to more than 600.

While there were never that many at any one point, attendee (and cousin of Munoz) Gio Romero said the event drew about 150 people at its peak and many more counting all those who swung through during its two hours.

Several media members attended, as did representatives of Papa John’s Pizza, who distributed 450 slices to hungry fans. A spokesperson for Papa John’s did not immediately return a call for comment.

The event was without incident and held with the blessing of Patriots staff, Munoz said. The team did not immediately return a call for comment.

Team owner Robert Kraft may have accepted his team’s punishment, but Brady has kept up the fight. Next up is his appeal. Whether arbitrator Roger Goodell overturns Brady’s suspension then or the quarterback takes his fight to court, Munoz is confident his punishment will go away.

“As soon as that happens, we’re definitely going to have a victory rally,’’ Munoz said.
