First post-suspension opponent? The Colts
Call it poetic justice, or a ratings grab. But as things stand right now, Tom Brady’s first game back from a four-game suspension for his role in the Deflategate scandal will be against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Pats’ fifth game of the 2015 season is scheduled for October 18 on Sunday Night Football, in Indianapolis. The game will be a rematch of the 2015 AFC Championship Game—the scene of Deflategate.
According to the Wells Report, the Colts alerted NFL officials to the Patriots’ footballs being under-inflated.
Brady’s suspension could be appealed and knocked down. If it stands, though, the game will be the biggest one Brady’s played in since…well, his last one, Super Bowl XLIX.
