Tom Brady Gave New Masters Champ Jordan Spieth Sage Advice on Winning in 2014 Video

Long before he became the “Next Big Thing’’ in golf with his Masters Tournament win last weekend, 21-year-old Jordan discussed winning championships with one of the pursuit’s best: Tom Brady.

Spieth and Brady were paired up on the course last year in a video by Under Armour (which sponsors both), discussing the former’s status as an up-and-comer and the latter’s as one of the all-time greats.

“I look at it as I need to win this major, I’m not like, ‘oh, over the course of a career, if I win one, I’ll be happy,’’’ said Spieth, pro golf’s 2013 Rookie of the Year. “I want to get one soon.’’

It’s a sentiment shared by Tom Brady, who according to the Buffalo News spent years responding to questions of which Super Bowl win was his favorite with “The next one.’’

Brady was 24 when he won his first championship, three years older than Spieth is now, but he still knows well what it’s like to reach your sport’s pinnacle in your youth.

At one point, Spieth asks Brady how he keeps his mind on the game, with his answer doubling as advice and a look inside the mindset of one of the great champions of all time.

“It takes time,’’ Brady says. “I was fortunate to be a on a great team when I was a young player, at that point you realize how hard it is to actually win. I appreciate it very much, and I’m sure you will too.’’
