Tight-Lipped Belichick Says Losing Revis ‘Not a Big Story’
As reporters surrounded Bill Belichick at the coaches’ breakfast at the NFL owners meetings Tuesday, attempt after attempt to get the Patriots head coach and team builder to offer some insightful thoughts on the offseason were unsuccessful. Belichick dismissed almost every question he faced, including questions surrounding Darrelle Revis leaving town and returning to the rival Jets.
“It’s NFL free agency. Players leave teams and go to teams in free agency every year. That’s not a big story,’’ Belichick said.
The four-time Super Bowl winning coach doesn’t seem worried about losing Revis, Brandon Browner, or Vince Wilfork.

The one issue that got Belichick to perk up temporarily involved the Patriots’ proposal for the league to install fixed cameras on the end lines, goal lines, and sidelines in every NFL stadium. Belichick called out the owners for clinging to their wallets, but the owners are reportedly willing to explore the possibility of adding the cameras in the future.

It’s not surprising to see Belichick is midseason question deflection form. As for downplaying New York’s re-annexation of Revis Island, only time will tell how big of a story it really is.
