Report: Patriots Hosting Free Agent Receiver Stevie Johnson
Johnson once tweeted that North Korea should target Foxboro first if it bombed the United States.
The Patriots are hosting free agent wide receiver Stevie Johnson Monday, and could potentially sign the former Bills standout to a deal that would bring him back to the AFC East.

Dianna Russini of NBC Sports cited unnamed sources in reporting the Patriots were interested in Johnson. Johnson, who spent the first six seasons of his career with the Buffalo Bills, was cut by the 49ers after one disappointing season in the Bay Area.

Patriots fans may remember Johnson for joking in a 2013 tweet that North Korea should target Foxboro first should it choose to bomb the United States. Apparently frustrated by the Bills’ lack of success in Foxboro, he later apologized for the joke.
With Johnson departed for San Francisco in 2014, the Bills beat the Patriots in Week 17, the first time Buffalo won in New England since 2000.
Johnson had three straight 1,000 yard seasons between 2010 and 2012, but his production has dropped each of the last two seasons. He turns 29 in July, so Johnson should have something left in the tank.
One thing that’s appealing about Johnson is his success against Darrelle Revis in his career. With the super cornerback returning to the Jets, the Patriots could be mining for some kryptonite.
