Reggie Bush Reportedly Visits With Patriots, but Will Sign With 49ers

Despite reportedly visiting with the Patriots, Bush has agreed to a deal with the San Francisco 49ers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, citing unnamed sources.

Bush had the potential to replace recently-departed Shane Vereen as a third down option who could catch balls out of the backfield. The 30-year-old will instead return to California, where he starred as a running back at USC, winning the Heisman Trophy (that was later vacated) in 2005.
The No. 2 overall pick in 2006 experienced a renaissance from 2011-13, rushing for 3,078 yards and 16 touchdowns over that span. The nine-year veteran has run for 5,465 yards in 116 career games with an additional 3,489 yards receiving.
