Saints Sign Brandon Browner to Three-Year Deal
Brandon Browner’s contributions to the Patriots Super Bowl winning team last season won’t soon be forgotten, but mentioning his name among his new fan base will quickly be met with an emphatic “Who Dat?’’
The New Orleans Saints announced on Thursday that they have signed Browner to a three-year contract, which NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports is for $18 million. Browner hit free agency after the Patriots elected not to pick up his 2015 option. Both of New England’s starting cornerbacks from Super Bowl XLIX will play elsewhere in 2015.

The Patriots are left with Alfonzo Dennard, Malcolm Butler, and Logan Ryan among the incumbent cornerbacks from last season. The team also signed former Raider Chimdi Chekwa to a one-year deal on Wednesday.
The top veteran corners left on the open market include former Packer Tramon Williams, former 49ers Chris Culliver and Perish Cox, and former Saint Patrick Robinson. The Patriots have focused their attention on the defensive front thus far, adding pass rusher Jabaal Sheard and staying in the mix for Vince Wilfork and fellow defensive tackles Nick Fairley and Ahtyba Rubin.
