Richard Sherman Bashes Brady, Praises Revis

Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has never been one to keep his feelings to himself. Speaking to media members Wednesday, Sherman reiterated his disdain for Patriots quarterback Tom Brady but shied away from comparing himself to Darrelle Revis.

“I think people sometimes get a skewed view of Tom Brady- that he’s just a clean cut, does everything right, and never says a bad word to anyone, and we know him to be otherwise,’’ Sherman said, referencing his infamous postgame confrontation with Brady in 2012. “He was pretty much saying that we were nobodies and that we should come up to him after they get the win. So we should take that pretty well, ‘Cool, can I get your autograph too?’’’

Sherman has been calling himself the best cornerback in the NFL for over a year now, but declined to knock Revis as an inferior player when prompted.

“I’m sure people make comparisons- they always do, but I think we play the game two different ways,’’ Sherman said. “He plays it more conventional is what people would say and mine’s a little more unorthodox, which means it’s just more difficult to replicate what I do on the football field. So everyone is going to make comparisons but it’s just two different styles to compare – I play my way, he plays his way, and both of them are effective.’’

We’ll see if Sherman can continue to play nice next Tuesday at Super Bowl Media Day.
