‘(Bleep)ing Machine’ Brady, Patriots Unmoved By Frigid Practices
In case you haven’t heard, it’s pretty darn cold in New England this week. The Patriots remain unfazed.
From the top on down, coaches and players have embraced the weather and practiced outside all week.
“We’re playing outside. We’re practicing outside,’’ Pats’ coach Bill Belichick said Thursday. “Whatever we practice in, I’m sure at some point we’ll play in it. We’ve practiced in everything this year: hot, cold, windy, still, day, night, rain. Whatever it is, it is.’’
“I know exactly what to wear,’’ Tom Brady told Tom E. Curan of CSNNE.com, bundled in a black, polyester headwarmer covering everything but his nose and eyes. “I’m a (bleeping) machine, man, I’m a (bleeping) machine! C’mon baby’’!
Defensive lineman Chris Jones doesn’t seem to have noticed the temperature, as he’s actually been practicing in shorts all week. After enduring sub-zero temperatures sans sleeves for multiple days, Saturday’s low-twenties forecast must look like a heat wave.

If there’s a lesson to be learned here, it’s that the Patriots simply do not care. Whether you’ve been playing in cold weather for over a decade (like Brady or Vince Wilfork) or you’re new to the sensation of frostbite (like Louisiana State and Carolina Panthers product Brandon LaFell), the weather is not going to be an excuse.
For the record, the Ravens practiced indoors with the doors open to try and simulate Foxboro weather. We’ll find out Saturday which team is more acclimated to battling Old Man Winter.
