Patriots Inactives: Chandler Jones, Dont’a Hightower Both Active vs. Dolphins

FOXBOROUGH — The New England Patriots will welcome back two of their biggest defensive players against the Miami Dolphins.
Defensive end Chandler Jones (hip) and linebacker Dont’a Hightower (knee) are both active for the Patriots’ fourth divisional game of the season. Jones’ return could mean a reduced workload for defensive end Akeem Ayers, who was added to the team via trade in the wake of Jones’ injury. Hightower’s return could mean a reduced workload for linebacker Jonathan Casillas, who was a bigger part of the game plan with Hightower out against the San Diego Chargers.
As for the seven players who will be inactive, there aren’t any huge surprises. Cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, offensive lineman Jordan Devey, defensive end Zach Moore, defensive lineman Dominique Easley, linebacker Chris White, running back James White, and offensive tackle Cameron Fleming will not play for the Patriots on Sunday.
