Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has been in a two-car accident in Charlotte blocks away from Bank of America Stadium. Reports state that Newton’s truck overturned on a bridge blocks away from Bank America Stadium, his car taking the brunt of the damage and flipping over.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo suffered a pair of fractures in his transverse process in a game earlier this season against the Washington Redskins. Romo actually returned to the Washington game after leaving with the back injury and finished the contest, but took the next week off against the Cardinals. He returned to action one week later against the Jaguars.
At the scene of the accident Newton was put on a stretcher, placed in an ambulance, and brought to a local hospital following the wreck. Here is a picture of Newton conscious and smiling.
More images and reports from the crash scene.
The Panthers are 4-8-1 this season so far, but in a less than stellar NFC South, they are still in contention for the division lead, sitting just behind a two way tie for first place between the 4-8 Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints.
