Patriots Sign Three to Practice Squad
It’s been nearly a full week, but the New England Patriots are finally back to a full 10-man practice squad.
On Wednesday, the Patriots announced they have re-signed linebacker Deontae Skinner and cornerbacks Justin Green and Daxton Swanson to their practice squad.
Green, 23, played two regular season games with the Patriots in 2013. He has served primarily as a practice squad player since entering the NFL, and was was sent to the Dallas Cowboys via trade during training camp when the team acquired defensive lineman Ben Bass. Green was released by the Dallas Cowboys during the team’s final cutdown to 53 players on September 1.
Skinner, 24, has been on and off the roster and practice squad this season. He played seven games and started one, logging 10 tackles in the process, before being released by the team on October 29.
Swanson, 23, has been in the league for two years, and has also been primarily a practice squad player. He signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent last year, but was released by the team mid-season and signed with the San Francisco 49ers a couple weeks later. He was released by the 49ers in May, and signed with the Patriots shortly thereafter.
Skinner and Swanson were released by the Patriots last Wednesday, and make their return to the team just a week later.
