Patriots Inactives: Alfonzo Dennard Out Second Straight Week

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The New England Patriots have been lauded for their depth in the secondary, but they will be without one of their best cornerbacks against the Denver Broncos.
Cornerback Alfonzo Dennard is out for the second straight week as a healthy scratch. The third-year cornerback has played in four games for the Patriots this season, at first dealing with a shoulder injury, but he was removed from the injury report prior to New England’s Week 7 game against the New York Jets.
Defensive end Chandler Jones was ruled out on Friday, marking the second straight week he has not suited up for the Patriots. Defensive lineman Dominique Easley saw an increased workload against the Chicago Bears, and could continue to see his playing time increase this week.
Wide receiver Aaron Dobson, running back James White, defensive end Zach Moore, offensive lineman Jordan Devey, and offensive tackle Cameron Fleming are the remaining inactives.
This means defensive tackle Alan Branch and linebacker Jonathan Casillas are both active for the Patriots, after joining the team during the week (Casillas via trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Branch as a free agent).
