Halloween is a time for people to dress up in their scariest costumes: ghosts, ghouls, goblins, Ke$ha. It’s also, as it turns out, an excuse to do something really stupid.

Photos are popping up on social media of men donning the black-and-purple uniform of former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, with either their significant others or other props serving as his wife, Janay, caked in makeup to look bruised and worn. Not even a month after the NFL was faced with multiple domestic violence cases among star players, the case that opened up the floodgates has become the butt of jokes.

According to TMZ Sports, Janay and Ray Rice are aware of people who are dressing up in costumes of their likenesses, and their response was that they are “praying for these people.’’ Janay Rice also tweeted, “It’s sad, that my suffering amuses others.’’
