The Game of the Year is finally the Game of the Week.

The current AFC favorite Denver Broncos, led by record-breaking quarterback Peyton Manning, travel across the country travel to New England, and while the weather might be snowy, the Patriots are red hot, as Tom Brady and company have won their last four straight, including a 51-23 thrashing of the Chicago Bears.

When the Broncos played the Patriots last season, the headlines were about former Patriot wide receiver Wes Welker and his return to Foxborough. This season, another former Patriot is out in the media about his return and some of his comments were surprising, to say the least.

Aqib Talib was a shutdown cornerback in New England last season, and after losing the AFC Championship game to the Denver, he took his talents right to the team that knocked him out, hoping for more success.

He was asked what was different about the Patriots and Broncos. His response?

“In the home games, the Patriots wear blue. For home games for Denver, we wear our orange. So there are a whole bunch of things that are different.’’

He has a big challenge ahead of him, as he will most likely be asked to cover tight end Rob Gronkowski, whose performance of 149 receiving yards and 3 TDs proved he is back in a big way.

When asked about Gronk, Talib replied, “He’s 6-foot-7, 200 and who-knows-what, and then he can run like a wild dog, man. He’s one of the top tight ends in the league. He knows how to play the game of football and then on top of that, he’s got a great quarterback throwing him the ball.’’

Talib was asked how excited he was for this game compared to others, to which he said, “I get pretty excited for every game though. So if I’m a little more juiced for this game, man, I guess y’all will be the judge of that.’’

Even if Talib doesn’t know if he’s more excited for this game than the others he’s played this season, both Broncos and Patriots fans should be on their feet and getting ready for what’s stacking up to be one of the most exciting games of the season so far.
