Radisson Suspends Vikings Sponsorship Because of Adrian Peterson

The Radisson hotel chain announced Monday that it is suspending its sponsorship of the Minnesota Vikings following the team’s decision to reinstate Adrian Peterson.

The news follows a press conference by Vikings general manager Rick Spielman in which the Radisson logo was splashed across the backdrop along with the Vikings logo. That visual, apparently, was not something the hotel chain wanted to see after Peterson, who is facing child abuse charges, was reactivated by the team. Here’s the hotel’s statement:

“Radisson takes this matter very seriously particularly in light of our long-standing commitment to the protection of children. We are closely following the situation and effective immediately, Radisson is suspending its limited sponsorship of the Minnesota Vikings while we evaluate the facts and circumstances.’’

Radisson is the first sponsor to pull out in the wake of Peterson’s arrest.
