Ray Rice To Appeal Indefinite Suspension
Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice will appeal his indefinite suspension by the NFL Monday, league sources tell Pro Football Talk.
Rice’s appeal will be handled by the NFL Players Association. Because Rice was suspended under the league’s personal conduct policy, commissioner Roger Goodell will have the ultimate authority over the appeal.
The NFL originally suspended Rice two games for an assaulting is wife in February. The subsequent release of a video of the attack prompted the Ravens to cut Rice and the league to suspend him indefinitely.
According to Pro Football Talk, a central issue in Rice’s appeal will be whether or not he lied to the league in his original account of the incident.
