Brady clutches leg, leaves practice
FOXBOROUGH — Tom Brady walked off the field under his own power after suffering an apparent injury in practice Wednesday afternoon.
During 11-on-11 drills vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady threw a sideline pass to Aaron Dobson that was incomplete. Bucs defensive end Adrian Clayborn appeared to push Patriots tackle Nate Solder into Brady. After the play, Brady remained down on the ground holding his left knee or leg. Clayborn confirmed what happened after the practice session.
“When you’ve got a guy on his heels, my instinct is to keep going and that’s what I did,” he said.
Brady got up gingerly and returned to practice, completing three passes before speaking with head coach Bill Belichick and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. After consulting with his coaches, Brady left the field, walking in the direction of the Dana Farber Fieldhouse.
