The view from Indy
A brief look at how our colleagues over at the Indianapolis Star are looking ahead to Sunday’s game:
— Mike Chappell writes that this isn’t just another game. “Welcome to New England Patriots week” he pens, emphasizing the intense nature of the rivalry and the continued eminence of both franchises. It’s the most e-mailed story on the site right now. FYI.
— There’s also some discussion on the Colts’ wide receivers. Peyton Manning threw for only 185 yards against the Bengals this week, with tight end Jacob Tamme as his leading receiver. Pierre Garcon led Colts wideouts with 37 yards. It’s worth checking the reports out of Indy this week to keep up with the status of Austin Collie, who was having a dominant season before going down with an injury.
— In fact, the Colts’ offense is staggering without weapons, with some players calling it “frustrating” and “chaotic”. Those are words Patriots fans haven’t heard associated with a Peyton Manning run offense in a long, long time.
