Welcome to Lucas Oil Stadium
Welcome to Lucas Oil Stadium, where the New England Patriots (6-2) will take on the Indianapolis Colts (8-0) at 8:20 p.m.
If Camden Yards were a football stadium, it would be this place. There’s a charm to the building, yet it’s absolutely massive. The stadium is all you see on the drive from the airport to downtown Indianapolis. But the details are there, from the brick exterior to the open windows on both end zones to the creative concourse areas. And don’t forget about the roof, which besides being functional also adds to the aesthetic.

No fans inside the stadium yet, and there are no players on the field. Some lucky gentlemen just participated in a flag football game on the field, a sign that real activity here is still sometime away.
And yet we’ve been here all day. Back with more as we approach this late-night thriller.
*Update: The lucky gentlemen in the flag football game were members of the Indianapolis Fire Department. Also, a large crew just unfurled a 100-yard flag, to be used later during the pregame ceremonies.
