Brady named AFC Offensive Player of the Week

The Patriots announced today that quarterback Tom Brady has been named the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week by the NFL for his record-breaking performance in the Patriots’ 59-0 victory over the Tennessee Titans last Sunday. It is the second time in 2009 (Week 1 against Buffalo) and 14th in his career that Brady has earned the award.

Brady completed 29 of 34 pass attempts for 380 yards and six touchdowns against Tennessee. He had 345 yards passing in the first half, setting a Patriots record for most passing yards in a half. In a historic second quarter, Brady threw five touchdowns, the highest in a single quarter in NFL history.
