Mayo upgraded to questionable
The Patriots have released their injury report for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos, and six players are listed as questionable, including linebacker Jerod Mayo, wide receiver Wes Welker, and nose tackle Vince Wilfork.
Mayo, the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year last season, has not played since suffering a right MCL sprain in Week 1 against the Bills. He was upgraded after being listed as doubtful yesterday.
Welker and Wilfork were both listed as questionable last week but played against the Ravens. All six players listed as questionable had limited participation in practice all week.
Linebacker Adalius Thomas, who did not practice yesterday or today for reasons the team termed not related to injury, is listed as probable.
Cornerback Leigh Bodden, defensive tackle Mike Wright, and running back Laurence Maroney were removed from the injury report today.
Wide receiver Randy Moss, who was bothered by a sore back last Sunday, was removed from the report yesterday.
For the Broncos, running back Correll Buckhalter, the team’s leading rushing with 267 yards, is out with an ankle injury.
