Fresh off his league-altering trade from the Los Angeles Lakers, newly minted Dallas Mavericks big man Anthony Davis paid a visit to a popular North End restaurant on Wednesday night, less than 24 hours before Thursday’s Celtics-Mavericks matchup.
Davis dined at Strega North End, enjoying his go-to entree — an off-menu shrimp parmigiana — and posing for a photo with owner Nick Varano.
“Our good friend and #3 Anthony Davis dined on his favorite Strega dishes before taking on the @celtics as a @dallasmavs tomorrow night,” the restaurant wrote on Instagram. “We always love to see longtime friends drop by to say hi to Nicky V.”
Both Strega’s North End and Seaport locations have been a hub for celeb-spotting in recent years, with notable diners including Davis’ fellow NBA star Steph Curry, rapper Post Malone, singer Mariah Carey, singer Ed Sheeran, and E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt.
It’s unclear whether Davis will make his Mavericks debut at TD Garden thanks to the lingering effects of an abdominal muscle strain. Davis participated in the team’s Thursday morning shootaround, but was officially listed as questionable at the time of this article’s publication.
