In an Olympic exhibition between Germany and France on Saturday, former Celtics Dennis Schröder and Evan Fournier let their emotions get the best of them.

Late in the first half of France’s win, Schröder attacked the basket and drew a double team. Fournier fouled him, and Schröder didn’t appreciate the nature of the hit.

Schröder jumped up, charged at Fournier, and lightly grabbed his neck area. Fournier took umbrage with Schröder’s reaction and escalated the kerfuffle by grabbing Schröder’s neck with force.

Fournier appeared to choke Schröder and was ejected as a result.

These teams are in the same Olympic group and will face each other Aug. 2.
