The Celtics have more pressing matters to tend to in the coming weeks, but they also have to prepare for the NBA Draft.

This year’s draft is scheduled for June 26-27, in Brooklyn, and Boston is slated to pick 30th and 54th.

In his latest Mock Draft, Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman predicted the Celtics will take power forward Daron Holmes II and wing Nikola Djurisic.

Holmes, a 6-foot-9-inch, 236-pound forward from Dayton, averaged 20.4 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.1 blocks this past season.

Wasserman compared him to current Golden State Warriors forward Trayce-Jackson Davis. He said Holmes entered the pre-draft process with more momentum than he had last year and made plenty of jump shots at the NBA Combine to help his cause.

“Improved range, handles/body control attacking the basket and passing have raised his draft stock, and he’s coming off a 23-point, 11-rebound, three-assist, four-stock game with a pair of threes against Arizona in the NCAA tournament,” Wasserman wrote.

He then has the Celtics taking Djurisic, a 6-foot-7-inch, 209-pound scorer who wasn’t on his board earlier in May. Djurisic averaged 14.4 points, 3.4 assists and 1 steal per game for Mega Basket of the ABA League this past year.

Wasserman compared him to Tobias Harris and said he’s put up big numbers overseas.

“It was more comforting for teams to see his scoring versatility come alive against projected second-round picks at the combine,” Wasserman wrote. “He converted jumpers, finishes and passes in a variety of ways while playing with some visible confidence.”
