Kendrick Bourne is already making his pitch to a possible Patriots free agent target

Kendrick Bourne made his pitch to Tee Higgins: The Patriots are 3-12 and very much in the midst of a rebuilding project, but wide receiver Kendrick Bourne already has an eye on the future.

The 29-year-old New England wideout recently chimed in on a TikTok livestream regarding the team’s possible offseason plans. Near the top of the Patriots’ free agent shopping list will be adding an impact wide receiver. Bourne specifically mentioned Tee Higgins of the Bengals.

“Tee Higgins, if you’re out there, I know they’re screen recording this,” Bourne correctly predicted on his TikTok account. “Come to the Pats, bro. It ain’t what it seems. It’s going to be lit.

“Drake Maye and Tee Higgins touchdown. Look how good that sounds,” Bourne added.

Higgins, 25, has played alongside Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow since being drafted by Cincinnati in the second round of the 2020 draft. He notched back-to-back seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards in 2021 and 2022, but has limited by injuries over the last two seasons.

He was franchise tagged by the Bengals in the previous offseason, but is set to become a free agent in the upcoming offseason.

The Patriots will have an abundance of cap space in free agency, with a projected NFL-leading $132 million to spend.

On Wednesday, the Celtics lost to the 76ers, 18-114. Boston will face the Pacers at home Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Also on Friday, the Bruins will be on the road in Columbus to play the Blue Jackets at 7 p.m, and the Boston Fleet will be in Toronto to play the Sceptres at 7 p.m. as well.
