Celtics trolled Heat fans on social media after playoff win
The message came in response to Heat fans chanting "We want Boston" during the play-in tournament.
The Celtics had the last word against the Heat: The Celtics-Heat rivalry has taken its share of twists and turns over the last several years. Given Miami’s upset of Boston in the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals, Heat fans were in a confident mood watching their team win in the NBA play-in tournament in April.
Knowing that a win meant a first-round matchup with the top-seeded Celtics, Miami fans chanted “We want Boston” in the fourth quarter of the team’s victory over the Bulls.
And a series with the 64-win Celtics was exactly what the Heat were rewarded with for advancing into the postseason.
Flashing forward to Wednesday, following the Celtics’ win in Game 5 to eliminate the Heat from the playoffs, Boston’s social media team unleashed a response.
Quoting the earlier video clip of Heat fans, the Celtics shared a simple message.
“Sincerely, Boston.”
