Kyle Van Noy is the latest former Patriot to criticize ‘The Dynasty’ documentary series
Van Noy also shared his thoughts on Bill Belichick.
Kyle Van Noy’s take on “The Dynasty”: The reaction to Apple TV+’s recent documentary series about the Patriots, “The Dynasty,” has been mixed. While it was seen as entertaining, many critics also simultaneously labeled it as being biased towards Robert Kraft (and against Bill Belichick).
Patriots fans can count former linebacker Kyle Van Noy among those voices who—along with fellow former Patriots like Devin McCourty and Rodney Harrison—aren’t fans of the production.
During a recent Twitter question-and-answer session with fans, Van Noy was asked if he’d been reached out to by the producers of the documentary about speaking with them.
“No I wasn’t,” Van Noy replied. “I [was] mad annoyed at first but glad they didn’t [because] it looks trashy now!”
Van Noy, 32, was traded to New England in 2016. He became a classic example of a player Belichick acquired for a small price (a sixth-round pick) but turned into a valued member of a Super Bowl defense.
On the subject of Belichick, Van Noy was asked about his former coach.
“He’s one of one,” said the ex-Patriots linebacker. “Best problem solver ever!”
Since departing New England following his second stint with the team in 2022, Van Noy has featured for the Chargers and Ravens. He’s currently a free agent, though Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh noted recently that the veteran linebacker might still return next season.
More locally, Van Noy said he misses New England and could be back (albeit in a non-football capacity).
“I’m trying to visit soon [to] catch a Celtics game and see some of my people!”
Trivia: Kyle Van Noy was originally a second-round pick by the Lions in 2014. Who was the first linebacker taken in that draft?
