Mac Jones is reportedly ‘very’ excited to work with Bill O’Brien
O'Brien has reportedly agreed to return to New England.
The Celtics lost to the Magic 113-98 on Monday, snapping the team’s nine game winning streak. Boston will play again tonight, facing the Heat in Miami at 7:30 p.m.
The Bruins will also be in action tonight for a matchup with the Canadiens in Montreal at 7 p.m.
And the Patriots made news on Tuesday with the reported hiring of Bill O’Brien as the team’s new offensive coordinator.
Mac Jones and Bill O’Brien: The Patriots’ reported decision to bring back former Alabama assistant Bill O’Brien to be the team’s new offensive coordinator already seems to be meeting with approval.
According to MassLive Patriots reporter Mark Daniels, a “source close to [Mac] Jones” said that the New England quarterback is “very” excited about the prospect of working with O’Brien.
Jones has said in the past that he’s a fan of “tough coaching,” a trait which O’Brien has never lacked.
“Another source close to the Patriots quarterback told MassLive that Jones ‘is looking forward to working with coach O’Brien,'” wrote Daniels.
The two briefly overlapped at Alabama (where O’Brien coached for the last two seasons as the team’s offensive coordinator). O’Brien credited Jones for helping him learn the college powerhouse’s playbook, which occurred prior to Jones being selected in the 2021 Draft by the Patriots..

On this day: In 1937, the Bruins tied the New York Americans 6-6 in a thriller at the Boston Garden.
The game began slowly, with neither team scoring in the first period. In the second, New York stormed to a 4-0 lead in what appeared to be an unassailable margin.
